Commissions and Prints
Buying My Art:
I have a deviantArt account at www.papillonlibre.deviantart.com where you are free to buy prints. If there is something in my gallery here or there that you want as a print, that is not available as a print, please either leave a comment, or drop me a line via email. When the picture or painting is available for sale as a print, I will email you back, so there’s no need to check my DeviantArt page constantly. I will also notify you if a picture was a commission and therefore, not available for purchase as a print.
Commissions:
Yes, I take them. In fact, I encourage them.
Subject: Nudity is fine, but I refuse to do pornographic images, humans or animals. Blood’s OK…but do you really want a painting of that? If you have a specific image in mind, please send me a photo reference. I’ll send sketches and works in progress if the end result means that much to you because I’d like to give a satisfying product.
Medium: I’ll work in just about any medium that is not digital (sorry, it takes me forever; I just don’t have the equipment). If you’re not sure what medium you want, here’s a sample of what I can do (listed in order of the least timely to most timely):
Colored pencil–>
(Expect a few days)
Watercolor–>
(Expect a week or two)
Pastel (Expect a month or less)
Pen and ink–>
(Expect a month or less)
Oil/acrylic paint–>
(Expect a month or more)
Timeline: The time is approximate and probably downplayed. Complexity and size are not taken in account on my estimates and will drive up the time.
Cost: Similarly, the more time it takes me the more it will cost. I charge for supplies (canvas, paper, new colors), the cost of which is nonnegotiable. (Notice, however, I don’t charge for palette paper, brushes, turpentine, tape, boards, ink, etc.) The cost of my labor, is, however, slightly negotiable. Email me with any questions or a ball park figure of what you’d pay for labor, either lump sum or by hour.
DeviantArt and Prints: Commissions will not be sold as prints, but may go up in my gallery and DeviantArt page unless otherwise specified. If for some reason, you want your picture to be sold as a print, let me know the same way as every other picture. If you do not accept a commission or don’t pay, I reserve the right to sell it as a print if I wish.
