“Don’t worry about it,” Josh had said to his wife as she ran about the kitchen throwing things onto her salad and stuffing large pieces of lettuce into her mouth.
“Are you sure? I can do the shopping after I drop the girls off,” she said.
“No, I want to do you a favor,” he said. “You work too hard.” He kissed her forehead as she stuffed another forkful of lettuce into her mouth.
“I’ll have the shopping list ready for you on the refrigerator.”
True to her word, the list was the only thing on the perfectly white refrigerator when he got home from work. He went over to it and scanned it over.
Don’t forget to buy:
-Orange juice (3 quarts of Tropicana no pulp, calcium and vitamin D—blue top, not white, yellow, orange, green, or tan)
-Apple Cinnamon Cheerios—for Alice
-Multigrain Cheerios—for Michelle
-Milk (Dean’s skim milk, fat free, vitamin A & D; blue label, not purple)
-Coffee (Folger’s coffee house series: French roast—34.5 oz tub)
-Creamer (16 oz. Nestle coffee mate—the original flavor)
-Yogurt (1 pack of Dannon’s light and fit smoothies; family pack; 12 oz. ea.)
-Granola bars (Nature Valley chewy trail mix)
-Fruit cups (2 packages (8 cups) of Dole’s diced pears in light syrup)
-Mozzarella cheese (1 package of Sargento deli style natural low moisture, low fat)
-Bread (Pepperidge Farm whole grain oatmeal)
-Lunch meat (For Alice: Sarah Lee smoked turkey, 1 lb; For Michelle and you: Sarah Lee honey ham, 2 lbs)
-Water for girls’ lunch(1 package—12, 12-oz. bottles—of small Aquafina water bottles)
-Protein drinks (Boost brand chocolate, strawberry, or chocolate mocha 6-8 fl. Oz.)—if they’re on sale, buy 2 boxes, if not, just 1.
-Apples—6
-Coke Zero (6, not a large box or the girls will start drinking it)
-Pasta (Bella Terra Penne Rigate whole grain pasta—2 boxes)
-Marinara sauce (Gia Russa—24oz. bottle)
-Rice (2, 14 oz boxes if Minute brown rice, instant whole grain)

-Organic romaine lettuce

-Veggie Burgers (Dr. Praeger’s, All Natural California Veggie Burgers)
-Popsicles (Edy’s fruit bars; all natural (fat free); lime or strawberry)
-Cake mix (1 box of Pillsbury moist supreme classic white cake mix. Since Alice has to make a cake for a friend, get a small tub of Betty Crocker’s chocolate frosting, as well.)
-Eggs (12 All Natural brown eggs—vegetarian fed hens)
-Napkins (Jewel brand, 360)
-Body wash—me (Olay body age defying with VitaNiacin—23.6 fl.oz.)
–Tooth paste (Arm and hammer advanced white gel and mouthwash)
-Deodorant—Michelle (Teen spirit (by Lady Speed Stick) cool coconut—green bottle)
“Geez,” he said taking the list off of the refrigerator and, after folding it up, putting it in his pocket. “She definitely doesn’t trust me. Tell her you’re doing a favor and she gets paranoid.” He laughed. “And she forgot to put my breakfast on the list.”
