Weekend in the country

It could be a gift or a gathering-

A word. A weekend. A whisper.

In shades of chocolate, honey, and biscuit

The perfect partner

Summer day heat wave

Sugar and spice

a chameleon hiding in plain sight,

our island universe

you asked for it

it is ending…

Okay, you wanted deep comments so here we go,

I like the overall feel of the poem, but I don\’t get the last two lines. The whole fragmented representational feel is cool and the middle is really strong. I think you can do better though (please don\’t eat me) and as always take my advise with suspicion because what the hell do I know, you\’re the author.
