Paintings and Drawings » The Kiss
Pencil on paper. This one took me a couple hours to do and unfortunately, because of my scanner, the shading isn’t really visible. But, I’m so proud of this, I could burst! It goes along with a short story/dialog of mine titled Before. While this never actually happened, you can tell this is what comes next. I didn’t read it before I drew this, though, so technically they should be younger and lying down. But, those are supposed to be the two characters, which is why they’re in bathings suits and not more clothes. To my credit, I gave her a one-piece.
I wanted to practice drawing from a reference to make my drawings without them better (not that they’re bad, but I can always improve!). I sort of wanted to do something a little different and I wanted to practice drawing men. I’ve gotten in a rut with all the women I’ve drawn. It’s good practice to draw the opposite sex. Overall, this one came out really well and it’s still one of my favorites.
